The headline fixture of the upcoming gameweek in Serie A is set to play out at San Siro on Saturday, September 30th.

The matchup in question will see AC Milan act as hosts, in a showdown with Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio.

Beginning with the former, Milan have put a recent derby day drubbing firmly behind them, to return to form in timely fashion over the last couple of weeks.

After counting themselves hugely unlucky not to best Newcastle United on opening day in the Champions League, the Rossoneri have stormed back to joint-table-topping status in Italy’s top-flight, courtesy of successive wins over Verona and Cagliari.

Lazio, though, will too head into proceedings in Lombardy on Saturday with spirits high in the camp.

After enduring a concerning opening to the campaign, the capital giants have since slipped to just one defeat in five, a stretch including wins over both Torino and champions Napoli, as well as a commendable stalemate with Atletico Madrid in Europe.

The matchup will be part of Gameweek 411 on Sorare Football, and 101 Great Goals has broken down the key statistical takeaways ahead of the game.

AC Milan vs Lazio Sorare tips

AC Milan

Yacine Adli

Something of a forgotten man on the red half of the Milan divide, Adli was rewarded for his perseverance by way of a first appearance of the season at Cagliari last time out. And, to his credit, the 23-year-old went on to take full advantage of the opportunity afforded to him. Thoroughly impressing in the middle of the park, calls have already spread amongst the Milan faithful for Adli to be afforded further game-time over the coming weeks, a trend which could well begin with a 2nd successive start, against Lazio.

Fikayo Tomori

After a somewhat challenging campaign in 2022/23, Tomori has of late rediscovered the kind of form which saw him long hailed as one of Italian football’s standout defenders upon his initial arrival at San Siro. An absolute rock at the back, the former Chelsea man’s showings have been aptly recognised by way of an average Sorare score of 82 across his last three appearances. One of the first names on the team sheet of boss Stefano Pioli, too, Tomori looks a shrewd pickup ahead of the upcoming Serie A gameweek.

Noah Okafor

A summer arrival at Milanello, Okafor showcased flashes of his undoubted potential across a series of appearances off the bench over the season’s early weeks. Then, handed a first-ever start in Rossoneri colours in midweek, the 23-year-old, like the aforementioned Adli, grasped his opportunity with both hands. Drawing Milan level courtesy of a clever touch and finish at Cagliari, Okafor set the stage for his new side’s eventual comeback triumph. Another start could therefore follow in quick succession, albeit with it as of yet unclear whether he has managed to usurp the veteran Olivier Giroud in the attacking pecking order of boss Pioli.

Lazio

Luis Alberto

Turning attentions towards Saturday’s visitors, Luis Alberto will without doubt have proven himself a decisive figure, in the case of Lazio emerging from San Siro with something to show for their efforts. The Spaniard remains one of Serie A’s very best in his role, as evidenced by his recent Sorare hauls of 93 and 87 in back-to-back appearances. All told, Alberto has managed two goals and two assists across all competitions this term, but it is his stellar all-round game which makes the 31-year-old such a solid pickup.

Adam Marusic

Another central cog in the Lazio machine, Marusic, an early withdrawal against Genoa aside, has played every minute of the Rome club’s campaign to date. His guaranteed starter status, coupled with season-best hauls in two of the last three Sorare gameweeks, make the defender an altogether tempting selection for the weeks ahead.

Mattia Zaccagni

Fresh off his best Sorare score of the campaign in midweek, Zaccagni, despite a lack of headline stats thus far in 2023/24, remains an ever-present threat in the attacking third. His first goal of the season proved crucial in putting Torino to bed on Wednesday, with the 28-year-old having long established himself as something of a favourite of headmaster Maurizio Sarri. Like Marusic, a less flashy, but potentially fruitful Sorare pick.
