Bournemouth vs Arsenal match preview

Will Arsenal get back to winning ways in the Premier League?

Last Sunday, despite leading twice, the Gunners were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw by fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby.

This led to a fair bit of doom and gloom, but it’s worth remembering that Mikel Arteta’s team are still unbeaten, winning four out of six.

Then, on Wednesday, Arsenal booked their place in the Carabao Cup fourth round, battling to a 1-0 victory at the Brentford Community Stadium.

Reiss Nelson broke the deadlock after just six minutes, teed-up by Eddie Nketiah, but the Gunners had to put in a backs-against-the-wall performance in the second half, holding out for a 1-0 win in West London.

Back in the league, ahead of next Sunday’s massive clash with Manchester City, it’s vitally important that the Gunners pick up three points in Dorset.

Despite winning two EFL Cup ties, Andoni Iraola is still searching for his first Premier League victory, with his team having drawn three and lost three so far.

Last Sunday, despite taking the lead through Solanke, the Cherries were eventually swatted aside 3-1 by Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex.

Dating back to April, Bournemouth are winless in ten Premier League outings, their longest barren streak since debuting in the top-flight in 2015.

This’ll be the 15th meeting of Arsenal and Bournemouth and, to date, the Cherries have only ever won once, this a 2-1 victory in January 2018, while the Gunners have won 11, or 79%, of these encounters.

So, will the away side leave Dean Court with all three points?

Bournemouth team news

Dominic Solanke, who took his tally to four goals for the season on Wednesday, hobbled off towards the end of the win over Stoke and, if he’s out, this would be a huge blow.

If he’s out, Kieffer Moore could lead the line, although Antoine Semenyo was the one who got the nod up front in the Carabao Cup.

Neto, Max Aarons and Ryan Christie will return to the XI, while USMNT captain made his Bournemouth debut in the week, his first appearance for anyone since March.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Neto; Aarons, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Kerkez; Cook, Billing, Christie; Tavernier, Kluivert, Moore.

Arsenal team news

The Gunners are enduring a bit of an injury crisis right now.

Jurriën Timber, Thomas Partey, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli are all sidelined, while Declan Rice, William Saliba and Bukayo Saka also missed Wednesday win at Brentford, making them doubts.

Emile Smith Rowe started a senior game for the first time in 499 days on Wednesday and, due to limited options, he will be a key figure again, even if he’s amongst the substitutes.

Aaron Ramsdale was back in goal for the Carabao Cup tie, but it’s widely expected that David Raya will return here.

Takehiro Tomiyasu is likely to keep his place, after a man of the match performance in the week, while Oleksandr Zinchenko, Martin Ødegaard and Gabriel Jesus will return to the XI.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; White, Tomiyasu, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Jorginho, Havertz, Ødegaard; Fábio Vieira, Jesus, Nelson.
