Monday March 12, 2018: One day to go and the excitement is palpable. For many horse racing fans this is like Christmas Eve.
There was widespread meltdown when it was revealed that Altior was lame, by trainer Nicky Henderson.

Thursday March 8, 2018: The big (sad) news on Wednesday was that Vroum Vroum Mag has been retired to become a bloodmare and misses the OLGB Mares’ Hurdle next Tuesday.
Today, all eyes will be on Thurles to see how “Mr Cheltenham” Ruby Walsh gets on in his first race back since a broken leg.
Meanwhile, there is talk of heavy rain in the coming days and Cheltenham could be “partly heavy” by Sunday.

The current going is soft, good to soft in places.

Tuesday March 6, 2018: It has emerged that no less than 200 tons of snow hit Cheltenham thanks to the “beast from the east”.
